Definition:

Restricting Corrective Actions is a configuration option (general category) in LearnCove that prevents users from creating their own corrective tasks within a Checklist activity (distinguishing feature). When enabled, only teachers can assign corrective tasks, ensuring that remediation remains structured, teacher-guided, and aligned with learning goals.

This option is useful when teachers want to:

  • Centralize control of improvement efforts.

  • Provide structured, consistent feedback.

  • Avoid learner-initiated corrections that may not align with instructional objectives..

Preparation:

Before restricting corrective actions in a Checklist activity, ensure that:

  • The Improvement Plan feature is turned on in the School Settings → Allow Settings.

  • A Checklist Activity has already been created.

How to: Disable Learner-Created Corrective Actions

  1. Navigate to the created checklist and scroll to the "Specifications" block. The "Add comments and files to the answer" option will be enabled dy default.

  2. Step 2: Disable the "Add comments and files to the answer" in the specification block.

Result: What Happens Next

Once this option is disabled:

  • The “Add more info” button will no longer appear in the question blocks.

  • Users will not be able to create their own corrective actions in the Checklist.

  • Only teachers will have the authority to assign corrective tasks, ensuring remediation is teacher-directed.

This setup maintains instructional control and consistency in how improvement activities are managed.
