Definition:

The Improvement Plan is a feature (general category) in LearnCove that allows teachers to enable or disable corrective actions within certain activity types, such as Checklists, Quizzes, and Surveys (distinguishing feature).

Corrective actions provide opportunities for users to:

  • Create follow-up tasks when responses do not meet expected requirements.

  • Add additional explanations or evidence to clarify their answers.

  • Demonstrate improvement and accountability through remediation.

This ensures remediation is aligned with learning objectives and supports learner self-regulation.

Preparation:

Before enabling corrective actions in a Checklist activity, ensure that:

  • The Improvement Plan feature is turned on in the School Settings → Allow Settings.

  • A Checklist Activity has already been created.

How to: Enable Corrective Actions in a Checklist

  1. Navigate to the created checklist and scroll to the "Specifications" block. The "Add comments and files to the answer" option will be enabled by default. (The activity already allows users to create corrective tasks for the questions contained in it)

Result:

Once corrective actions are enabled:

  • Each question block in the Checklist will display an “Add more info” button.

  • Users completing the activity can click this button to:

    • Create a corrective task.

    • Add follow-up explanations.

    • Upload supporting files or comments to strengthen their response.

This setup empowers users to take initiative in addressing gaps, while giving teachers structured oversight of remediation efforts.
