A Number Field item is a numeric input type (general category) in LearnCove that allows learners to enter a specific numeric value as a response (distinguishing feature). It is commonly used in checklist activities to record measurable data such as:
Quantities
Temperatures
Weights
Pressure readings
Key features include:
Optional lower and upper limits to define an acceptable range
Predefined unit labels (e.g., “°C”, “°F”, “MPa”, “kg”)
Custom unit option (up to 3 characters) for flexibility
This makes the Number Field item ideal for standards-based recording in cleaning, maintenance, or inspection processes.
Preparation:
Before creating a Number Field item, ensure that:
A Checklist Activity has already been created.
The creator has access to the Question tab within the activity.
How to: Create a Number Field Item
Navigate to the Question tab and click the Add button.
From the list of available item types, select Number field.
Enter your content into the Question Text field. (This field is required.)
Select value from the available ones or enter your own. (Optional)
Fill in the minimum and maximul limits. (Optional)
Click "Save" to finish creating the question.

Once saved:
The Number Field item will appear in the Checklist activity.
Users will be able to enter numeric values only into the field.
If limits are defined, learners will receive a notification if their response falls outside the allowed range.
The entered values will be stored as part of the activity results, ensuring precise tracking of operational data.
