Definition:

A Radio Buttons item is a single-choice question format (general category) in LearnCove where learners select one correct answer from a list of provided options (distinguishing feature). Only one option can be chosen at a time, making it ideal for:

  • Knowledge checks (testing understanding of key concepts)

  • Surveys (collecting focused feedback)

  • Classification tasks (choosing the most accurate category)

The interface uses circular selection buttons for clarity and supports advanced settings, including:

  • Custom instructions before the question

  • Up to three introductory files (e.g., images, documents, or videos)

Preparation: Before You Begin

Before adding a Radio Buttons item, ensure that:

  • A Checklist Activity has already been created.

  • The creator has access to the Question tab within the activity.

How to: Create a Radio Button Item

  1. Navigate to the Question tab and click the Add button.

  2. From the list of available item types, select Radio button.

  3. Enter your content into the Question Text field. (This field is required.)

  4. Fill the answer option in the Answers section, in needed add the additional option using "Add more" button. (there can be up to 10 options)

  5. Click "Save" to finish creating the question.

Result:

Once saved:

  • The Radio Buttons item will appear in the Checklist activity.

  • Users will see the question with circular buttons and can select only one option from the list.

  • Their selection will be stored as part of their progress and results.

This format ensures clarity, precision, and ease of use for both learners and instructors.
