Definition:
A Text Answer item is an open-ended question type (general category) that allows employees to provide detailed, written responses (distinguishing feature). This item supports reflection, personalized feedback, or elaboration on a topic beyond multiple-choice or checklist-style responses.
When creating a Text Answer item, the creator can use the Preview panel on the right-hand side to see a real-time view of how the question will appear to learners.
Preparation: Before You Begin
Before adding a Text Answer item, ensure that:
A Checklist Activity has already been created.
Creator has access to the Question tab within the Checklist.
Any supporting materials (e.g., an image to accompany the question) are ready to upload.
How to: Create a Text Answer Item
Step 1: Navigate to the Question tab and click the Add button.
Step 2: From the list of available item types, select Text Answer.
Step 3: Enter your content into the Question Text field. (This field is required.)
Step 4 (Optional): Upload an image to the Image section. (Only one image can be added.)
Step 5: Click "Save" to finish creating the question.

Once saved:
The Text Answer item will appear in the Checklist activity.
Learners will be able to type and submit written responses directly within the activity.
The Preview ensures the question displays as intended before publishing.
This setup provides flexibility for collecting detailed, personalized input from users.
